Refining your search results
Combining search terms using „AND“
All search terms entered are automatically combined with „AND“, that means that hits will include all your search
terms. You dont need to insert „AND“ between search terms, just separate search terms by a space.
Example: Pressen Leinhaas
The system will display all data records containing both the term „Pressen“ and the term „Leinhaas“.
Combining search terms using „OR“
If you want to search individual search terms using the operator „OR“, you need to insert the word „OR“ between
these terms.
Example: Haspeln OR Doppelhaspeln
The system will display all data records containing either the term „Haspeln“ or the term „Doppelhaspeln“ or both.
You can also perform a search combining the operator „OR“ with „AND“. In such a case you need to put the terms to
be combined using „OR“ in parenthesis.
Example: Pressen (Leinhaas OR Sutherland)
The system will display all data records containing the term „Pressen“
and either the term „Leinhaas“ or the term „Sutherland“ or both.
Eliminating search terms using „NOT“
In order to limit the number of hits you can also eliminate terms by putting „NOT“ in front of the term to be
eliminated. The system will only display hits that do not contain this term.
Example: Pressen NOT Sutherland
The system will display all data records containing the term „Pressen“ but not the term „Sutherland“.
It is, of course, also possible to use the operator „NOT“ in combined search operations together with „AND“
and „OR“ searches.
Example: Coilverarbeitung (Haspeln OR Doppelhaspeln) NOT Sonderhaspeln
The system will display all data records containing the term „Coilverarbeitung“
and either the term „Haspeln“ or the
term „Doppelhaspeln“ or both, but the term „Sonderhaspeln“ must not occur in the data records found.
